A group of designers, artists, communication researchers and
environmental psychologists from Europe, South America and the US met to
discuss the possibilities of information design as a means to spread

Fertile land to produce agricultural and forestry products is a limited
resource on our planet. This study will investigate the direct and
indirect land required to satisfy the final demand of agricultural and
forestry products in Europe. Stephan Lutter at the final conference of MELIA in Agadir, Morocco
From 19-21 June, the final conference of the EU project MELIA (Mediterranean dialogue on integrated water management) took place. SERI researcher Stephan Lutter
gave two presentations on the project's results as well as on ongoing
research activities in the field of water accounting and the

SERI contributed to the new UNEP report on „Decoupling natural resource
use and environmental impacts from economic growth". SERI researcher Stefan Giljum
was the lead author for the chapter on “Trade and the distribution of
resources and environmental burdens”. Furthermore, the UNEP report cited
a number of SERI studies such as SERI's work on global material flows,
embodied CO2 emissions and the “Overconsumption” report. The Eco-Innovation Challenge
The Eco-Innovation Observatory recently published its first annual
report “The Eco-Innovation Challenge. Pathways to a resource-efficient
Europe”. SERI contributed several chapters to this flagship report of
