SERI recommends the monthly SOL-meeting:

Fr, 18 may: “Living together solidarily in a housing project”

Programme: Cooking and eating together, followed by a discussion group in which the housing project “Gennesaret” is presented and SOL includes the global aspect of solidarity. Registration: vera@besse.at, 0699/ 11 24 12 59

New glossary on the protection of resources published by the German Federal Environmental Agency

The Federal Environmental Agency (UBA) was founded in 1974 and is the central environmental agency in Germany. Until 2015, the issue of “balancing the protection and use of natural resources” is one of the main focal points of the UBA strategy. UBA has broad competences on the protection of all natural resources. This includes renewable as well as non-renewable resources, the physical environment, water, earth and air, as well as biodiversity, sun and wind.

In order to establish the protection of resources as a central issue which is equally important as climate change within the environmental sciences and to develop a common understanding of the linkages, a common and clear usage of terms is of great importance. The aim of the glossary on the protection of resources is to create a basis for a logical coherence of the most important terms, to separate them clearly from each other and thus to offer a better profile to the scientific, political and public discussion on the protection of natural resources. The glossary can be downloaded here in German language.
