Call for paper for”Environmental Degradation and Conflict: From Vulnerabilities to Capabilities”
The European Science Foundation (ESF) – in partnership with Bielefeld University and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF) – is organising a conference on “Environmental Degradation and Conflict: From Vulnerabilities to Capabilities” which will be held from 5 – 9 December 2010 in Germany.
This conference will be chaired by Prof. Thomas Faist, University of Bielefeld, Germany. Prof. Jill Jäger, from SERI, will attend as an invited speaker.

(Deutsch) “Cinema and Human Rights” am 1. Juni im Top Kino
Das Ludwig Boltzmann Institut für Menschenrechte organisiert, gemeinsam mit der Forschungsplattform “Human Rights in the European Context” der Universität Wien die Veranstaltungsreihe “Cinema and Human Rights”, bei der Dokumentarfilme gezeigt werden, die verschiedene menschenrechtliche Themen aufgreifen. Die Reihe ist des Weiteren Teil des Seminars “Cinema and Human Rights” an der Universität Wien.
Im Rahmen dieser Veranstaltungsreihe wird am Dienstag, den 1. Juni 2010 um 19:00 im Top Kino (Rahlgasse 1, 1060 Wien) den Film “ There Once was an Island: Te Henua e Nnoho” gezeigt. Der Film von Briar March (Neuseeland) dokumentiert am Beispiel der Insel Takku, wie Klimawandel das Leben und den Alltag einer polynesischen Community beeinträchtigt.
Im Anschluss an die Vorführung findet eine Podiumsdiskussion statt. Jill Jäger (SERI) wird dort die Perspektiven des EACH-FOR Projekts einbringen.
