There are different methodical approaches to measure ecological sustainability: Carbon Footprint, Water Footprint, MIPS, Ecological Footprint, LCA and many more. On the 16^th of October 2009 the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management in cooperation with ECR Austria held the International Experts Workshop “Much more than Carbon Footprint” (details in the agenda). More than 40 international experts discussed on how synergies between different European initiatives for the measurement and communication of ecological sustainability can be used in a better way, in order to solve common challenges.
