Sustainability aims at the involvement of all (European) citizens. With the Johannisburg "Rio +10" global summit in 2002, sustainability will come on the worldwide agenda (again). sustainability.TV will supply and broadcast events and other information on the issue of sustainable development live on the internet and present them for view on demand on the web.

The general aim is therefore to improve government-to-society (G2S) communication in both ways as well as to stimulate communication within society (S2S) on the issue of sustainability as required by the Amsterdam treaty and strengthened at the Gothenburg summit. This should be achieved by the use and further development of

  • video streaming (live transmission and video on demand - both accessible via internet)
  • electronic news media (on the web, via SMS and the like)
  • communication tools (chat events and discussion groups, opportunities for video-conferencing)
  • data bank and
  • interactive games

especially dedicated to the theme of sustainable development in Europe.

Target groups include

  • the public sector
  • the general public
  • activists' groups
  • business (esp. SMEs)
  • educational institutions
