born in 1953 in Naples (Italy), married, no sons, naturalist and environmentalist, is a national spokeperson at WWF Italy. In the past he has been Secretary General of WWF Italy for six years (1994-2000). He studied biological sciences at Rome University "La Sapienza" and he has a course on natural resources management and sustainable development at the Specialization School on Environmental Management at Camerino University. He is Secretary General of the Aurelio Peccei Foundation that is the italian chapter of Club of Rome (he has been member of Club of Rome for one mandate under the presidency of Alexander King) and he is member of the National Board of Italian Institute on Sustainable Development (ISSI). He is the italian editor of the State of the World by Worldwatch Institute since 1988 and of many others important reports (World Conservation Strategy, Caring for the Earth, Vital Signs etc.) and of many books by Paul Ehrlich, Norman Myers, Mathis Wackernagel, Edward Goldsmith etc. He wrote many books such as "Planet Earth", "In Our Hands", "Italy a future capable country" etc. He wrote many articles and essays on sustainable development and related issues. He was member of the italian delegation at Earth Summit in Rio, 1992 and he has been member of several committees on global environment at Ministry of Environment in Italy. |
